In the social studies classroom at Woodward, the goal is to create a well-informed citizenry. The use of technology enhances this experience and gives students the opportunity to see the larger world and the issues that are being faced. The students become active participants gaining understanding of real world problems and seeking solutions through the use of technology.
In the pages of this wiki you will find some examples of collaborative projects done by the 7th grade social studies classes during the second semester. Several of the projects involved student research about a country in the Middle East and Africa. Students used Google Docs to collaborate on the research, and then used their research to create a script for a short news broadcast on the assigned country. The final product was a movie created using iMovie.
